The Steve Scott Youth Track Training Clinic was held Saturday, April 25, 1998. Approximately
150 youngsters enjoyed a free clinic learning how to increase their speed and flexibility.
Participants received bottled water and energy bars and a participation medal.
The Stay ‘N’ Play program provides after school supervision and recreation for youths in the
northwest quadrant. The donations helped to offset the cost of a field trip to Knotts Berry Farm
for participants.
The Recreation Opportunity Grants program gives youths who cannot normally afford to
participate an opportunity to experience a wide variety of City sponsored recreation programs.
Donated funds help to pay for the youth scholarships.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds have been deposited into account #149-4503-5651 (Recreation Special Events). All
donations offset the cost to the City in providing these programs and contribute to the popularity
of the events.
