CLK I 1 CITY MGR. -$+ RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. w-w-t , authorizing the destruction of’certain files in the City Clerk’s Office. ITEM EXPLANATION This Agenda Bill is part of a continuing Records Management Program for the City. Adoption of the attached Resolution will allow for destruction of contract bids. Section 34090 of the Government Code provides authority for destruction of documents that are more than two years old and are no longer required. The section also requires City Attorney consent and City Council authorization prior to destruction of any document. The documents listed in Attachment “A” of Resolution No. 98-194 have been reviewed in accordance with the provision of the Government Code. They meet the requirement, and the City Attorney has consented to their destruction. FISCAL IMPACT None. EXHIBITS 1. WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code provides authority for the destruction of certain records; WHEREAS, the documents listed on Attachment “A”, attached hereto and made a part hereof, meet the requirements of Government Code Section 34090 for destruction and the City Attorney has consented to their destruction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: I. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to destroy the documents listed on Attachment “A”, attached hereto.
