MTG7-7-98 - ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS CITY ATT’??
RECOMMENDED ACTION :
Adopt Resolution No. @l g * 213 , accepting a donation of five hundred dollars ($500) in
cash in support of the 1998 Agua Hedionda Lagoon Cleanup.
ITEM EXPLANATION :
The Recreation Department has received a cash donation of five hundred dollars ($500) from the
Kelly Land Company in support of the June 20, 1998, Agua Hedionda Lagoon Cleanup Day.
Staff recruits volunteers and coordinates this annual lagoon cleanup effort by providing
refreshments, cleaning supplies and trash containers. Kelly Land Company’s five hundred dollar
($500) donation will help offset these costs.
During it’s May meeting, the Parks and Recreation Commission received the donation and
unanimously recommended acceptance by the City Council. A letter of appreciation has been
sent.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds have been deposited into account #149-4503-5651 (Recreation Special Events). All
CI donations offset the cost to the City in providing this program and contribute to the public’s

RESOLUTION NO. 98-213
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,
ACCEPTING A FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION OF FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($500) IN SUPPORT OF THE 1998 AGUA HEDIONDA
LAGOON CLEANUP.
WHEREAS, the annual Agua Hedionda Lagoon Cleanup will be held June
20,1998; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission has received a cash
donation totaling five hundred dollars ($500) from the Kelly Land Company in
support of this event; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission has recommended
acceptance of this donation by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this donation and
acknowledge the generosity and support of community organizations who
donate to this program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, the following:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council does hereby accept the financial support
totaling five hundred dollars ($500).
