RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 98-252 accepting the Traffic Signal at the intersection of College Blvd.
and Aston Avenue, as complete and directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of Completion
and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On December 16, 1997, HMS Construction, was awarded a contract in the amount of $92,993
for construction of the traffic signal at the intersection of College Blvd. and Aston Avenue.
HMS Construction, completed the work on June 18, 1998. City forces have inspected said
work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends formal acceptance by the City Council.

RESOLUTION NO. 98-252
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF
COLLEGE BLVD. AND ASTON AVENUE, PROJECT NO. 3522.
WHEREAS, the construction of the traffic signal at the intersection of College Blvd. and
Aston Avenue has been satisfactorily completed; and
WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the construction of the traffic signal at the intersection of College Blvd. and
Aston Avenue specifically identified as Project No. 3522, is deemed complete and hereby
accepted.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execute
the Notice of Completion and have same recorded.
4. That bonds will be released in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
Council held on the 26th day of July 1 1998 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Nygaard, Kulchin and Hall
