Staff recommends Council adopt Resolution No. 98 - 325 , awarding the bid for Fi Fighter's Station Uniforms for the period October 7, 1998 through October 6, 1999, w the option to renew the contract for three (3) additional one (1) year periods to Lor Beach Uniform Company Inc. ITEM EXPLANATION The City of Carlsbad and twenty one other agencies participated in a joint cooperati\ bid for Fire Fighter's Station Uniforms. This year, in addition to the fire resistive uniforn from our previous contract, non fire resistive uniforms were added to the bid. Based on questionnaire distributed to the agencies, it is estimated that 1000 shirts and 1000 pan will be purchased from this bid. The anticipated orders will result in purchases in exce5 of $79,000. Each individual public agency will place their respective order(s) with tt- selected vendor. In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice to Bidders wi published and Requests for Bid were sent to eighteen vendors. It should be noted that th price for a set of fire resistive shirt and pants has decreased by $18.40 from our previoL contract. The vendor accepted the Public Agency Clause allowing any public agency ir the State of California to participate in this award during the contract period. That the bid from Long Beach Uniform Company Inc., 2700 Juniper0 Avenue Signal Hill, CA 90806 is hereby accepted and the Purchasing Officer is hereb authorized to execute a Purchase Order for these items as the need arises fo a period of one year beginning October 7, 1998 through October 6, 199! which may be renewed by the City Manager for three (3) additional one (1 year periods. Sorci, San Diego County Fire Equipment Committee SUBJECT: Station Uniform Bid Samples I have reviewed the bid samples submitted by Long Beach Uniforms and have concluded that all four samples meet the specifications of the Uniform bid.. I recommend that we award the contract for the uniform bid to Long Beach Uniforms. I fixther request that we set up a post bid meeting to workout the details of ordering documents.
