ACCEPTANCE
OF DONATION
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 98 -326 accepting a donation of $2,350 from the Carlsbad Arts Associates.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The Carlsbad Arts Associates is donating $2,350 to the City to help offset the expenses of a performance of Yaelisa and Solera Flamenco Dance Company.
The Arts Cffice will present Yaelisa and Solera Flamenco Dance Company in a public performance at 7:00 p.m. on October 10, 1998, at the Carlsbad Cultural Arts Center. The Carlsbad Arts Associates and Friends of the Carlsbad Library have agreed to partner with the Arts Office to present this performance.
The artist will also be conducting a two day residency at local schools and organizations.
FISCAL IMPACT
The donated amount of $2,350 will be placed in the Arts Office General Arts Donations account and appropriated to use for the public performance.
The total cost for the artist’s performance and residency is $8,000. The Carlsbad Arts Associates is donating $2,350, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library is contributing $1,650. The remaining $4,000 is budgeted in the Arts Office 1998/99 budget.

- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A
DONATION FROM THE CARLSBAD ARTS
ASSOCIATES
WHEREAS, the Arts Commission recommends a minimum of two visiting artist programs be
held in FY 1998/99; and
WHEREAS, the Arts Office is presenting Yaelisa and Solera Flamenco Dance Company
in a public performance and visiting artist residency; and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Arts Associates and Friends of the Carlsbad Library have
agreed to partner with the Arts Office to present the public performance of this artist; and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Arts Associates is donating $2,350 to help offset the
performance expenses of Yaelisa and Solera Flamenco Dance Company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, as
follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the donation of $2,350 from the Carlsbad Arts Associates is hereby
accepted and deposited into the Arts Office General Donations account and
appropriated to use for the public performance of Yaelisa and Solera Flamenco
Dance Company.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 6th day of October , 1998, by the following vote,
to wit:
