RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-458, approving Specific Plan Amendment (SP-181@3), to modif
the permit requirement provisions for hotel, motel, theater and other commercial uses withi.
the Carlsbad Airport Center Specific Plan, on property generally located along the north sidi
of Palomar Airport Road to the south, and west of Palomar Airport, in Local Facilitie Management Zone 5.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Ordinance No. NS-458 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held o
October 6, 1998. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance whic
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance publishel
within fifteen days, if adopted. (Not withstanding the preceding, this ordinance shall not b
effective within the City’s Coastal Zone until approved by the California Coasta
Commission.)

The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does ordain as follon
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has reviev
considered a Specific Plan Amendment for future development of the site; and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Airport Center Specific Plan was adopted
Council Ordinance No. 9635 on August 3, 1982 and constitutes the development standi
design guidelines for the development of the subject property; and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Airport Center Specific Plan was amenc
181(A)) through City Council Ordinance No. NS-178 on October 20, 1991; and
WHEREAS, after procedures in accordance with requirements of law,
Council has determined that the public interest indicates that said plan amendn
approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad does 01

SECTION 1: That the Carlsbad Airport Center Specific Plan, as ame
date, and further amended by the Carlsbad Airport Center Specific Plan Amendment
