PLN &' CITY MGR 4 RECOMMENDED ACTION: That Council ADOPT Resolution No. 98-338 , APPROVING the third Gene Amendment of 1998. ITEM EXPLANATION: Section 65358(b) of the California Government Code limits the number of amendrr mandatory element (e.g. Land Use) to four per calendar year. It also allo amendment to include more than one change to the General Plan. In order to con remaining amendment for 1998, the following three changes to the General Plan h consolidated into one amendment: 1. General Plan Consistency GPA 97-01 2. Terraces at Sunny Creek GPA 96-01 3. Courtyard by Marriott GPA 98-02 FISCAL IMPACT: Disclosed as a prior agenda item. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW: Disclosed as a prior agenda item. EXHl BITS : I. City Council Resolution No. 98- 33 8 . 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 0 0 RESOLUTION NO. 98-338 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE GENERAL PLAN IN 1998 FOR GPA 97- OI/GPA 98-02 WHEREAS, on April 1, 1998, and September 2, 1998, the Planning Co held duly noticed public hearings to consider the General Plan Amendments GPA S GPA 98-02 and the related environmental review, respectively; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission adopted Resolutions No. 4249 respectively, recommending approval of the three subject amendments; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, on the 6th day of 1998, held duly noticed public hearings to consider the Planning Con- recommendations and to hear all persons interested in the proposed changes to thc Plan and related environmental review; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad wishes to conso proposed changes to the General Plan (GPA 97-01/GPA 98-02) into a single an constituting the third General Plan Amendment of 1998. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City Council ( of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. 2. That the above recitations are true and correct. That the City Council approves the following: a. b.
