RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends acceptance of work in accordance with Contract No. FAC98-I 2 as complete and
requests direction to the City Clerk to have the Notice of Completion recorded and to release the
bonds thirty five (35) days after recordation.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On August 4,1998 the City Council awarded Contract No. FAC98-12 in the amount of $53,020 to
Wharton General Contractors, for the Swim Complex ADA Improvements. The improvements
included the remodeling of the entrance, public counter, men’s and women’s restrooms and
showers to facilitate disabled access. There were two change orders totaling $6,431. The change
orders provided for the replacement of approximately 175 square feet of deck concrete that was
cracked and not included in the scope of work and the replacement of all wall and floor tile in the
restrooms because the existing tile was no longer available for patching the areas renovated. The actual construction took a total of 40 days from start to finish, is now complete and the contractor’s
work is acceptable to the Facilities Superintendent.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this project is appropriated in the Capital Improvement Program, Account Number
30070009060/34411900.
