IECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 99 -5 1 appointing one member to the Board of Directors for the
Foundation for Carlsbad Community Television.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The By-Laws of the Carlsbad Community Television Foundation authorize seven directors.
Two directors are selected by the cable television operators within Carlsbad. The other
five directors are appointed by a majority vote of the members of the City Council.
Additionally, per Council request, the Carlsbad Unified School District nominates a trustee
for one of the five Council-appointed positions.
The Carlsbad Unified School District held a Re-organization Meeting on December 9,
1998, and nominated Trustee Nicole Pappas for appointment to the Carlsbad Community
Television Foundation. Trustee Pappas will replace the current School Board
representative, Tracy Carmichael.
The other Council appointed Directors are: Ralph Marchioni, Robert Sheppard, Robert
Turner, and Paul Vanderpool.

1. Letter, dated December 18, 1999, from the Carlsbad Unified School District,
nominating Trustee Nicole Pappas for appointment to the Board of Directors of the
Foundation for Carlsbad Community Television.
2. Resolution No. 95 -S I , appointing one member to the Board of Directors for the
Foundation for Carlsbad Community Cable Television, to represent the Carlsbad
Unified School District Board.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING ONE MEMBER TO THE FOUNDATION FOR CARLSBAD COMMUNITY TELEVISION
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Unified School District Board of Trustees have nominated
Trustee Nicole Pappas to serve as a member of the Foundation for Carlsbad Community
Television;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following person is hereby appointed to serve as a member of the Board
of Directors for the Foundation for Carlsbad Community Television, representing Carlsbad
Unified School District, for a term expiring January, 2000:

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of
