MT&t-Jb-Ciq ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS CITY ATTY ti@ DEPT k%+ CITY MGRZ RECOMMENDED ACTION : Adopt Resolution No. Sci - s 0 , accepting cash donation of five hundred dollars ($500) in support of the Opportunity Grants Scholarship Fund. ITEM EXPLANATION : The Recreation Opportunity Grants program gives youths who cannot normally afford to participate an opportunity to experience a wide variety of City sponsored recreation programs. Donated funds help to pay for the youth scholarships. The following individual offered donations in support of the listed program: l Amy Kraft - Opportunity Grants (cash) $500 TOTAL OF DONATION $500 FISCAL IMPACT: Funds have been deposited into account #149-45035651 (Recreation Special Events). All donations offset the cost to the City in providing these programs and contribute to the popularity of the events. EXHIBITS: 1. Resolution No. W-S8 i RESOLUTION NO. 99-58 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A CASH DONATION OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500) IN SUPPORT OF 3 THE OPPORTUNITY GRANTS SCHOLARSHIP FUND. 4 WHEREAS, the Opportunity Grants Program began the week of June 1, 1998; and 5 WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission has received a cash donation of five 6 hundred dollars ($500) from Amy Kraft; and 7 WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission has recommended acceptance of this 8 donation by the City Council; and 9 WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this donation and acknowledge the 10 generosity and support of the community individuals and organizations who donate to this 11 program. 12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, 13 California, the following: 14 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 15 2. That the City Council does hereby accept the financial support totaling five hundred dollars ($500).
