AWARD OF BID FOR PEDESTRIAN
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends Council adopt Resolution No. 9 0) - / / q awarding a bid
for two pedestrian undercrossings to CSR Hydro Conduit Corporation.
ITEM EXPLANATION
To facilitate the construction of Faraday Avenue, the City contracted out the
design, manufacture and delivery of the two pedestrian undercrossings. The
pedestrian undercrossings will provide a connection point for the trail system that
will run from the Veterans Memorial Park to the City Municipal Golf Course.
Due to the length of time required to manufacture the undercrossings, and the
City’s desire to complete the grading of the road within a seven month period, it
was determined that pre-ordering the undercrossings would benefit the project
schedule. Delivery of the first undercrossing is required by June 7, 1999.
In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice to Bidders
was published and Requests for Bid were sent to four vendors. Two bids were
opened on March 25, 1999, as listed below:
Associated Concrete Products lnc $133,275.98
CSR Hydro Conduit Corporation $107,590.53
The lowest, responsible bidder submitting a responsive bid is CSR Hydro
Conduit Corporation.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the CIP account for the Faraday Avenue extension.
