RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-493, amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code, by the addition of Section 10.44590, to establish a 25 mile per hour prima facie speed
limit upon Adams Street, from Chinquapin to its intersection with Park Drive.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Ordinance No. NS-493 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on June
15, 1999. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance which would
then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published within
fifteen days, if adopted.

ORDINANCE NO. NS-493
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER
10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
ADDITION OF SECTION 10.44590 TO ESTABLISH A PRIMA
FACIE 25 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON ADAMS
STREET FROM CHINQUAPIN AVENUE TO ITS INTERSECTION
WITH PARK DRIVE.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
)y the addition of Section 10.44590 to read as follows:
“10.44590 Adams Street:
Upon Adams Street from Chinquapin Avenue to its intersection with Park Drive, the prima facie speed limit shall be twenty-five
miles per hour.”
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption
nd the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to
le published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within
fteen (15) days after its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the
15 day Of June , 1999, and thereafter,
