ACCEPTANCE 0F CONTRIBUTION TO THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD DRUG ABUSE RESISTANCE EDUCATION
PROGRAM AND APPROPRIATION OF CONTRIBUTION

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 4%&& accepting a contribution of $636.00 to the City of Carlsbad Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) Program from the California DARE Officers’ Association and
appropriating the funds for purchase of equipment.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Carlsbad Police Department received a contribution from the California DARE Officers’
Association Program as a share of proceeds from the 1999 Wild Rivers Fund Raiser
The contributed funds will be utilized to purchase DARE school supplies for the Carlsbad DARE
Program.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None. The funds will be deposited in the DARE Trust Account.

RESOLUTION NO. 99-236
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A
DONATION FOR SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY-SIX DOLLARS
FROM THE CALIFORNIA DARE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, the California Dare Officers Association donated six hundred and thirty-six
dollars for the City of Carlsbad Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this donation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to appropriate the donation funds to purchase
equipment and classroom supplies for the DARE Program; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accept the donation of six hundred and thirty-six dollars on
behalf of the citizens of the City of Carlsbad, California.
3. That the City Council appropriate the funds to purchase equipment and classroom
supplies for the DARE Program.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 6 th day of Julv I 1999, by the following vote, to
wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Nygaard, Finnila, Hall & Kulchin
