ITEM EXPLANATION: On A ril 4, 1999, City Council authorized the advertisement for bids for the construction of the Gibra ter Street Emergent P Department received two (2 Y Access Road Reconstruction, Project No. 3626. FISCAL IMPACT: Funds in the amount of $60,000 have been appropriated for this project. An additional a f propriation of $45,000 is required to complete the project. ROJECT NAME 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 - RESOLUTION NO. 99-261 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 3626 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE GIBRALTER STREET EMERGENCY ACCESS ROAD RECONSTRUCTION AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION THEREFOR. PROJECT NO. 3626. WHEREAS, plans have been reviewed by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad for the construction of the Gibralter Street Emergency Access Road Reconstruction, Project ~ No. 3626; and WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the construction of said project; and WHEREAS, the low bid received to construct said project was submitted by Single Eagle, Inc., dba Concrete Contractors Interstate in the amount of $62,178.60; and WHEREAS, the low bid received to construct said project submitted by Single Eagle, Inc., dba Concrete Contractors Interstate is responsive; and WHEREAS, the total estimated costs for said project are $102,578.60; and WHEREAS, Council has previously appropriated $60,000 for design, construction, administration and inspection of said project; and WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $45,000 are available from Gas Tax Revenues. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the bid of $62,178.60 by Single Eagle, Inc., dba Concrete Contractors Interstate for Project No. 3626 for construction of the Gibralter Street Emergency Access Reconstruction Project is accepted, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract therefor. 3. That $45,000 is hereby appropriated from the Gas Tax Fund to the project fund. 4. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve construction change orders up to $12,500. Ill - 1 5. That the award of this contract is contingent upon the contractor executing the 2 required contract and submitting the required bonds and insurance policies, as described in the 3 contract, within twenty (20) days of adoption of this resolution.
