3ECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-504, amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code, by the addition of Section 10.44.600, to establish a 35 mile per hour prima facie speed
limit upon Jackspar Drive, from Camino Hills Drive to its intersection with El Camino Real.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Ordinance No. NS-504 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
August 10, 1999. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE IO, CHAPTER
10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
ADDITION OF SECTION 10.44.600 TO ESTABLISH A PRIMA
FACIE 35 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON JACKSPAR
DRIVE FROM CAMINO HILLS DRIVE TO ITS INTERSECTION
WITH EL CAMINO REAL.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
8 by the addition of Section 10.44.600 to read as follows:
9 “10.44.600 Jacksbar Drive:

Upon Jackspar Drive from Camino Hills Drive to its intersection
with El Camino Real, the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty-five
miles per hour.”
12 EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption
13 and the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to
14 be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within
15 fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
16 INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 17 day of August 9 1999 by the following vote, to wit:
