ACTION: RECOMMENDED
Adopt Resolution No. aodo~-oc authorizing the destruction of certain files.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
This agenda bill is part of a continuing Record Management Program for City departments.
Adoption of the Resolution will complete the destruction of obsolete and unnecessary files of the
City Attorney’s office kept off-site at Iron Mountain Storage facility.
Government Code section 34090 provides authority for destruction of documents that are more
than two years old and are no longer required. Authorization of the City Council is required prior
to the destruction of any documents.
The documents listed in Exhibits “A” and “B” have been reviewed in accordance with the
provisions of section 34090 of the Government Code, and meet those requirements, and the
City Attorney has consented to their destruction.

None.

RESOLUTION NO. 2000-06
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE
DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN RECORDS KEPT BY THE
CITY ATTORNEY.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad resolves:
I, That pursuant to Section 34090 of the Government Code, the City
Attorney is authorized to destroy records over two years old as shown on Exhibits “A” (off-
site storage) and “B” (on-site in City Attorney’s office).
2. This resolution shall not authorize the destruction of any record which
the City Attorney deems is necessary for the ongoing or current activity of the office of the
City Attorney.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad on the 4th day of JANUARY 2000, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES. Council Members Lewis, Hall, Finnila, Nygaard, Kulchin
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: NONE
