CLK APPOINTMENT TO HOUSING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt City Council Resolution No. G?~OO -26 appointing one member to the Housing Commission. ITEM EXPLANATION: A vacancy exists on the Housing Commission due to the recent death of Housing Commissioner Bob Rose. Mr. Rose was serving in the Rental Assistance - Senior Category. The vacated term expires in July, 2003. The appointee, therefore, shall serve the remainder of this term, and must be a tenant assisted by the Carlsbad Housing Authority, and at least 62 years of age. The other four members of the Housing Commission and their categories are: Roy Latas (Rental Assistance - General), Ed Scarpelli (Member at Large), Jim McNeil (Member at Large), and Doris Richie (Member at Large). NOTE: Members of the Housing Commission are subject to the Political Reform Act and must file Statements of Economic Interests. EXHIBITS: 1. Copies of applications received in calendar year 1999, who are qualified to fill this vacancy. , - RESOLUTION NO. 2000-26 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING ONE MEMBER TO THE CARLSBAD HOUSING COMMISSION WHEREAS, a vacancy exists on the Housing Commission, due to the death of Bob Rose; and WHEREAS, there is a need to appoint one additional member to the Housing Commission under the category of “Senior Tenant assisted by Carlsbad Housing Authority”; to fill the remainder of the term, which expires in July, 2003; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the following person is appointed to serve as a member of the Housing Commission, in the “Senior Tenant assisted by the Housing Authority” category, for a term which expires in July, 2003: C.
