Adopt Resolution Nos. d70m-Sb and a000 -3 7 I appointing two
members to the Senior Commission.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The term of Arthur Serrin expires in September, 1999. Mr. Serrin
was originally appointed to the Commission in September 1995, and
has served four years.
The term of Myra Zink expires in September, 1999. Ms. Zink was originally appointed to the Commission in October, 1991, was
reappointed in September 1995, and has served eight years.
The appointees will serve four year terms, which will expire in September, 2003.
Other members currently serving on the Senior Commission are:
Izma Chmiel, Mildred West, and James Whittaker.
Members of the Senior Commission are subject to the
requirements of the Political Reform Act, and must file
Statements of Economic Interests.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING ONE MEMBER
TO THE CARLSBAD SENIOR COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the term of Arthur Serrin expired in September,
1999;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following person is hereby appointed to serve
as a member of the Carlsbad Senior Commission for a term to
expire in September, 2003.

Subject: Requested ar extension of service August 1999 - August 20
Gentlemen:
My past experience (1995 - 1999) on the Senior Commission has convinced me to
extend my service with this vitai community service to Carisbad seniors.
Personal objectives which have been proposed but not yet brought to closure concern
the continued unavailability of:
Carisbad housing development(s) which provide age restricted separate
Senior Communities with home ownership (not rentals or mobile homes);
and Carisbad State Beach free parking access/passes for Carisbad and
other seniors with limited income/physical restrictions.
If approved, I pian to continue my efforts on these and future objectives benefiting
Carisbad seniors.
