The Master Pfan team has developed and is assessing the first of a set of incremental steps
for the development of Lindbergh Field. Each step is designed to meet near-future demand
and avoid overbuilding if an alternate site for the airport is identified and approved.
Additionally, the Port and the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) are
conducting an Airport Economic Analysis to dtermine the additional economic impact of an
unconstrained regional airport. This analysis, which will be completed in Spring 2000, will
contribute to the development of a regional strategy for air transportation.
On behalf of the Port of San Diego Airport Master Plan team, I am requesting that we be
docketed to present a detailed overview of this plan at an upcoming City Council meeting.
Our presentation is approximately 20 minutes in length.
Please contact Mark Pettis at (858) 452-0031, ext. 390 to schedule this presentation or obtain
additional details.
Thank you for your interest in this vital regional issue.
Sincerely,
