RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-539 amending Title 10, Chapter 10.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the addition of Section 10.40.127(a) to declare a no parking zone on the west side
of Ponto Drive (south) from Avenida Encinas to its intersection with Carlsbad Boulevard.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-539 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
April 11, 2000. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE IO, CHAPTER
10.40, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION
OF SECTION 10.40.127(a) TO DECLARE A NO PARKING
ZONE ONTHE WEST SIDE OF PONTO DRIVE (SOUTH)
FROMAVENIDA ENCINAS TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH
CARLSBAD BOULEVARD.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:

SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by
the addition of 10.40.127(a) to read as follows:
9 “10.40.127 Parkina Time Limit on Ponto Drive (south).
10 (a) There will be no parking on the west side of Ponto Drive from Avenida Encinas to its intersection with Catisbad Boulevard.”

and to redesignate existing section 10.40.127 to 10.40.127(b).
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption
and the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to
I4 be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within
15 fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
