RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. ~&%/%ccepting the construction of the 1999 Pavement Overlay, Project
No. 3667-2, as complete and directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of Completion and release
bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On June 22, 1999, Silvia Construction, Inc. was awarded a contract in the amount of $1,247,302.71
for construction of the 1999 Pavement Overlay. Numerous streets citywide were paved with 1%
inches of new asphalt.
Silvia Construction, Inc., completed the work on February 18, 2000. City forces have inspected
said work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends formal acceptance by the City Council.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF THE 1999 PAVEMENT OVERLAY, PROJECT NO. 3667-2.
I I WHEREAS, the construction of the 1999 Pavement Overlay has been satisfactorily
5 completed; and
6 WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
7 WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
9 California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the construction of the 1999 Pavement Overlay, specifically identified as
12 Project No. 3667-2, is deemed complete and hereby accepted.
3. 13 The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execute
the Notice of Completion and have same recorded.

4. That bonds will be released in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
