Staff recommends the City Council ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. dob6 -16 ?
accepting the improvements as complete and directing the recordation of the Notice of
Completion for the interior remodel of the Georgina Cole Library Project, C.ity Project No.
33841.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The interior improvements to the Georgina Cole Library have been recently completed.
The contractor has satisfactorily completed the “punch list” of remaining items of work.
Staff recommends the City Council formally accept the improvements as complete and
direct the recordation of the Notice of Completion.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The following is an accounting of costs associated with the completion of the interior
remodel of the facility:

Total Interior Remodel Costs $894,472
There remains a balance of $1,012,305 in the project account. These funds have been
earmarked and are sufficient for the completion of exterior improvements to the facility.
The City Council awarded a design contract for the exterior improvements on April 18,
2000; construction of the exterior improvements will begin later this calendar year.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE
IMPROVEMENTS AS COMPLETE AND DIRECTING THE
RECORDATION OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR
THE GEORGINA COLE LIBRARY REMODEL PROJECT,
CITY PROJECT NUMBER 33841
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Carisbad, California has previously
appropriated funds for the Georgina Cole Library Remodel Project, City Project No.
33841, hereafter referred to as the “Project;” and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously awarded design and construction
contracts for the Project; and
WHEREAS, the Project improvements have been satisfactorily completed; and
WHEREAS, a Notice of Completion has been prepared for the Project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds it necessary, desirable, and in the
public interest to accept the completed improvements for the Georgina Cole Library
Remodel Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the completed improvements are hereby accepted and the City Clerk is
directed to record the Notice of Completion for said Project.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
