The City enforces ADA compliance for all its new construction, and is also committed to retrofitting older areas of the City to bring them into compliance. One of the key elements in this compliance effort is the Pedestrian Curb Ramp Program. Of the 425 locations in the City identified as having sidewalks, but no pedestrian ramps, 262 locations in the Northwest and Southeast Quadrants have already been retrofitted through two previous pedestrian ramp projects. In addition, 16 ramps were constructed in conjunction with adjacent public works projects or by Public Works personnel. The remaining 147 locations identified to receive ramps are distributed within the Northeast, Southeast and Southwest Quadrants. This construction project will complete the Pedestrian Curb Ramp Program.
