RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. g@r c /& accepting the construction of the Widening of Palomar Airport Road from El
Camino Real to Melrose Drive, Project No. 3602, and the Palomar Airport Road and El Camino Real Turn Lanes, Project No. 3676 as complete and directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of Completion and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On March 21, 2000, Castello Inc. was awardedf a contract in the amount of $629,156 for construction of the Widening of Palomar Airport Road from El Camino Real to Melrose Drive and Palomar
Airport Road and El Camino Real Turn Lanes.
Castello, Inc. completed the work on November 18, 2000. City forces have inspected said work and found it
to be satisfactory. Staff recommends formal acceptance by the City Council.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF THE WIDENING OF PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD FROM EL
CAMINO REAL TO MELROSE DRIVE, PROJECT NO. 3602, AND
THE PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD AND EL CAMINO REAL TURN LANES, PROJECT NO. 3676.
6 WHEREAS, the construction of the Widening of Palomar Airport Road from El Camino
7 Real to Melrose Drive and the Palomar Airport Road and El Camino Real Turn Lanes has been
s satisfactorily completed; and
9 WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
IO WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
11 California, as follows:
12 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
13 2. That the construction of the Widening of Palomar Airport Road from El Camino
l4 Real to Melrose Drive and the Palomar Airport Road and El Camino Real Turn Lanes, specifically
15 identified as Project No.‘s 3602 and 3676, is deemed complete and hereby accepted.
16 3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execute
17 the Notice of Completion and have same recorded.
18 4. That bonds will be released in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
19 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 9th dayof January I 20 2001 by the following vote, to wit:
