RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-566 amending Title IO, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the addition of Section 10.44.660 to establish a prima facie 35 mile per hour speed
limit upon Ranch0 Bravado from Melrose Drive to its intersection with Paseo Monona.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-566 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
January 9, 2001. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44,
OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION OF
4 SECTION 10.44.660 TO ESTABLISH A PRIMA FACIE 35 MILE
PERHOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON RANCH0 BRAVADO FROM
5 MELROSE DRIVE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH PASEO MONONA.
6 The City Council of the City of Catlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
7 SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
s by the addition of Section 1044.660 to read as follows:
9 “10.44.660 Ranch0 Bravado: Upon Ranch0 Bravado from
Melrose Drive to its intersection with Paseo Monona, the prima
10 facie speed limit shall be thirty-five miles per hour”.
11 EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption
12 and the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to
be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within
13 fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
