RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-578 amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the revision of Section 10.44.350 to establish a Prima Facie 50 mile per hour
speed limit upon College Boulevard from Palomar Airport Road to its intersection with El
Camino Real.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-578 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
March 6, 2001. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER
10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
REVISION OF SECTION 10.44.350 TO ESTABLISH A PRIMA FACIE 50 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON
COLLEGE BOULEVARD FROM PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH EL CAMINO REAL.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
by the revision of Section 1044.350 to read as follows:
“10.44.350 Collecae Boulevard: Upon College Boulevard from
Palomar Airport Road to its intersection with El Camino Real, the prima facie speed limit shall be fifty miles per hour.”
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption
and the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to
be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council held on
the 6th day of March (2001, and thereafter,
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 13th day Of March , 2001 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, and Hall.
NOES: None
