RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-583 amending Title IO, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the amendment of Section 10.44.320 to establish a Prima Facie 40 Mile Per Hour
Speed Limit upon Faraday Avenue from College Boulevard to Cannon Road.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-583 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
May 1, 2001. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

See Agenda Bill No. 16,175 on file with the City Clerk.

II SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carisbad Municipal Code is amended
by the revision of Section 1044.320 to read as follows:
“10.44.320 Faradav Avenue:

EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption
and the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to
be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within
fiReen (15) days after its adoption.

1st day of May ,2001, and thereafter,
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 10.44.320 TO ESTABLISH A PRIMA
FACIE 40 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON FARADAY AVENUE FROM COLLEGE BOULEVARD TO CANNON ROAD.
a. Upon Faraday Avenue from College Boulevard to its intersection with Orion Street, the prima facie speed limit shall
be forty miles per hour.
b. Upon Faraday Avenue from College Boulevard to Cannon Road, the prima facie speed limit shall be forty miles per
hour.”
