Adopt Resolution No. d&I/ -/ 74 accepting a donation of $1,000 from the
Carlsbad Lions Club, appropriating the funds, and directing an appropriate letter of thanks.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Carlsbad Lions Club is donating $1,000 to the Carlsbad City Library for the purchase of
reading materials for the visually impaired.
Donation is appropriated to the Library Gifts and Bequests Fund.
FISCAL IMPACT: None

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,
ACCEPTING A GIFT OF $1,000 FROM THE CARLSBAD LIONS
CLUB AND APPROPRIATING DONATION TO THE LIBRARY
GIFTS AND BEQUESTS FUND.
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Lions Club has donated $1,000 to the library, and;
5 WHEREAS, the library and the Carlsbad Lions Club have agreed that this
6 donation will be used to purchase reading materials for the visually impaired;
7 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
8 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
9 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. 10 That the City Council accepts the gift of $1,000 from the Carlsbad Lions Club
on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and hereby appropriates these funds to

the Library Gifts and Bequests Fund.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
13 of the City of Carlsbad, California, at a regular meeting held on the 26th day
14 of June ,2001, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Finkla, Ny
NOES: None.
