RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No.2001 - 20 0 ., Resolution No. ZOOl- 20 1 , Resolution No. 2001- 2 02 , and appointing three members to the Sister City Committee.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The term of Barbara Brill expires in April, 2001. Ms. Brill was originally appointed in May,
1996 and has served five years.
The term of Leonard Martyns expires in April, 2001. Mr. Martyns was originally appointed in
March, 1999 and has served two years.
The term of Allan Wanamaker expires in April 2001. Mr. Wanamaker was appointed in
October, 1996 and has served five years.
Other members of the Committee are: Jan Bischoff, Shand’e Carpenter, Carm Finocchiaro,
Michael Klima, Elisabeth Paegel.
NOTE: Members of the Sister City Committee are subject to the Political Reform Act

RE: APPOINTMENT
DEAR HONORABLE COUNCIL MEMBERS,
I have been a member of the Personnel Board for a few years
and my term expired recently. With your approval I would
appreciate being re-appointed to the Board.
If this is not possible I wish to let it be known I am available
to be appointed to other Boards or Commissions. My preference,
should one ever exist, would be to a Board of Police
Commissioners. In addition I fmd the “Sister City Committee”
very interesting.
Obviously, I reside in the City of Carlsbad at 6893 Carnation,
92009. My mailing address is P.O. Box 849, Carlsbad, Ca 92018.
I believe you have my resume so I will just give you a quick update.
I continue to operate my insurance agency, Don Martin Insurance
Agency, in Escondido (with a Carlsbad phone number). Prior to
this I was employed as a Divisional Claims Manager where I was
responsible for a staff of 237 people and tens of millions of claim
dollars. We handled the insurance claims in Orange and Los
Angeles Counties.
