NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR CANNON ROAD
WEST REACH 1

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. dcO\-d3Kaccepting the construction of the Cannon Road West
Reach 1, Project No. 31841, 31842, 31844, 35341 and 35831, as complete, and
directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of Completion and release bonds in
accordance with State law and City ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On October 27, 1998, Hazard Construction Company was awarded a contract in the
amount of $5855,027 for construction of Cannon Road West Reach 1. The work
included construction of the bridge, roadway, water lines and sewer lines.
Hazard Construction Company completed the work on March 30, 2001. City forces
have inspected said work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends formal
acceptance of this work by the City Council.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF CANNON ROAD WEST REACH 1, PROJECT NO’s+. 31841,
31842,31844, 35341 and 35831.
WHEREAS, the construction of Cannon Road West Reach 1 has been satisfactorily
completed; and
WHEREAS, the formal project Notice ofCompletion has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the construction of the Cannon Road West Reach 1, specifically identified as
Project Nos. 31841, 31842, 31844, 35341 and 35831, is deemed complete and hereby
accepted.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execute
the Notice of Completion and have same recorded.
4. That bonds will be released in accordance with State law and City ordinances.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad C
Council held on the7th day of Auqust , 2001 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members LeWiS, Kulchin, Nygaard and Hall .
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Council Member Finnila.
