RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. a@/- aq accepting the construction of the Faraday Avenue
Extension Street Improvements, Project No. 3593-2, as complete and directing the City
Clerk to record a Notice of Completion and release bonds in accordance with State law
and City ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On December 7, 1999, MJ Koch, Inc./El Cajon Grading & Engineering, Inc., Joint
Venture, was awarded a contract in the amount of $2,513,301 for construction of the
Faraday Avenue Extension Street Improvements.
MJ Koch, Inc./El Cajon Grading & Engineering, Inc., Joint Venture completed the work
on March 28, 2001. City forces have inspected said work and found it to be
satisfactory. Staff recommends formal acceptance of this work by the City Council and
incorporation of this road into the City street system.
FISCAL IMPACT:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF THE FARADAY AVENUE EXTENSION STREET
IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 3593-2
WHEREAS, the construction of the Faraday Avenue Extension Street Improvements,
including grading, paving and utility installations has been satisfactorily completed; and
WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the construction of the Faraday Avenue Extension Street Improvements.
specifically identified as Project No. 3593-2, is deemed complete and hereby accepted.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execL
the Notice of Completion and have same recorded.
4. That bonds will be released in accordance with State law and City ordinances.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad C
Council held on the Auqust 7thday of , 2001 by the following vote, to wit:
