CN TITLE- i&&ST FOR OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL TO ICMA ANNUAL CONFERENCE DEPT. HD. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. d~(-~L)~ approving out-of-state travel for two (2) members of the City’s performance measurement team to attend the ICMA Annual Conference to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah. ITEM EXPLANATION: The International City/County Managers Association (ICMA) has requested that the City of Carlsbad give a presentation on the City’s performance measurement system as part of the ICMA Annual Conference. This request is to allow two (2) members of the performance measurement team to travel with the City Manager to assist in the presentation. The presentation is part of a larger panel that addresses the subject topic “From Performance Measurement to Performance Management”. The conference will be held from September 22,200l to September 26,200l. FISCAL IMPACT: The cost for two (2) representatives will be approximately $3500. This cost includes travel, lodging, food, and conference costs. Funds necessary to cover these expenses are available in the City Manager’s 2001-02 budget. EXHIBITS: 1. CONTACT: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2001-248 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL TO ATTEND THE ICMA ANNUAL CONFERENCE ~ WHEREAS, the City Council has previously authorized the development of a performance measurement system, and: I WHEREAS, the ICMA has requested that the City of Carlsbad give a presentation regarding performance measurement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct 2. That out-of-state travel is hereby authorized, in accordance with City Policy, for two 1 (2) members of the performance measurement team to attend the ICMA Annual Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad on the 7th day of Auqust ,2001, by the following vote: AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Nygaard and Hall. NOES: None. ABSENT: Council Member Finnila. ATTEST:
