RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-584 amending Title IO, Chapter 10.40, of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the revision of Section 10.40.158 to establish a three-hour parking time limit on
State Street from Beech Avenue to Carlsbad Boulevard.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-584 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
October 9, 2001. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

ORDINANCE NO. NS-584
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER
10.40, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY
THE REVISION OF SECTION 10.40.158 TO ESTABLISH A
THREE-HOUR PARKING TIME LIMIT ON STATE STREET FROM
BEECH AVENUE TO CARLSBAD BOULEVARD.
6 The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
7 SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by
s the revision of Section 10.40.158 to read as follows:
9 “10.40.158 Parkina Time Limit on State Street. There will be
three-hour parking on each side of State Street from Oak Avenue
IO to Carlsbad Boulevard between the hours of seven a.m. and
six p.m. except for Sundays and holidays.”
11 EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption
12 and the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to
13 be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within
14 fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
15 INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the
16 9th day of OCTOBER ,2001, and thereafter,

18 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 16th day of OCTOBER . 2001 by the following vote, to wit:
