Letters of appreciation have been sent on behalf of the Recreation Department to all of the businesses and organizations. FISCAL IMPACT: The cost associated with the donated services and products offset the actual cost of providing this special event. In order to maintain the caliber, integrity and notoriety that currently exists for the Carlsbad Triathlon, the cost of providing the $28,175 of donated products, goods and services is an expense, which would otherwise be required of the General Fund. $8,732 in cash donations has been deposited into the Recreation Triathlon Donations account #149-4502-5651. List of Donations for the 20th Annual Carlsbad Triathlon a I 11 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2001-348 A RESOLUTlON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF EIGHT THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY-TWO DOLLARS ($8,732) IN CASH AND TWENTY EIGHT THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-FNE DOLLARS ($28,175) IN MERCHANDISE AND IN-KIND SERVICES FOR A TOTAL OF THIRTY-SIX THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SEVEN ($36,607) IN SUPPORT OF THE ANNUAL CARLSBAD TRIATHLON. 1 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Triathlon was held on July 28Tn & 2gti, 2001, in Cartsbad; and I WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the donations of cash, merchandise, and in-kind service donations totaling $36,907 in support of the Cartsbad Triathlon, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a 1 part hereof; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge the generosity and support of community vendors and organizations who donated to this special event; and, WHEREAS, on August 20’“, 2001, the Parks and Recreation Commission received individual donations and in-kind services totaling thirty-six thousand, nine hundred seven ($36,907) and recommends acceptance by the Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Cky Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, the following: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the City Council does hereby accept $8,732 in cash and $28,175 in merchandise and in: kind service donations totaling thirty-six thousand, nine hundred seven dollars ($36,907), which is identified as Exhibit 2. 3. That the City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to appropriate the above funds, for the use specified by the donators into the following account: $8,732 into Triathlon Trust Special Supplies, account #149 4502 7899.
