DESIGN REVIEW BOARD APPOINTMENT CITY ATTY.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2002-*, appointing one member to serve on the Design Review
Board, as a Planning Commission representative.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The current composition of the Design Review Board, in accordance with Chapter 2.26 of
the Carlsbad Municipal Code, consists of: two (2) Planning Commissioners, one (1) Village
Redevelopment Area property owner, one (1) Village Redevelopment Area business owner,
and one (1) general member. All members of the Design Review Board must also be
residents of the City of Carlsbad.
Bill Compas has served as a member of the Planning Commission and as one of the two
Planning Commission representatives to the Design Review Board. Mr. Compas’ term on
the Planning Commission has expired, and a replacement has been appointed, making him
ineligible to continue serving on the Design Review Board. Therefore, another member of
the Planning commission must be appointed to fill the remainder of Mr. Compas’ term on
the Design Review Board which expires in October, 2003.
Current member of the Planning Commission are: Julie Baker, Melissa White, Courtney
Heineman, Bill Dominguez, Frank Whitton, Jeff Segall, and Seena Trigas.
NOTE: Members of the Design Review Board are subject to the provisions of the Political
Reform Act, and must file Statements of Economic Interests.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING A MEMBER TO
THE CARLSBAD DESIGN REVIEW BOARD
WHEREAS, Bill Compas’ term on the Planning Commission has expired, making him
ineligible to continue serving on the Design Review Board; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Compas’ term on the Design Board expires in October, 2003;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following person is hereby appointed as a representative from the Planning
Commission to the Design Review Board for a term expiring in October, 2003;

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad on the %day of MARCH , 2002, by the following vote, to wit:
