CM I ! DEPT. HD. CITY ATTY. (!h'b CITY MGR- RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive presentation from Friends of Carrillo Ranch regarding the 2002 Best-of-Class student-artists. ITEM EXPLANATION: The City Council provides an opportunity for citizens and organizations to have an item placed on a City Council Agenda by submitting a letter to the City Manager. Attached is a letter (Exhibit 1) from the Friends of Carrillo Ranch requesting that they be allowed to present the Best-of-Class student artists for 2002. Many of these winners were able to attend along allow the recognition of our Best-of-Class student-artists for with their family and friends. Their artistry focusing on Carrillo Ranch was quite dramatic and it was an enjoyable event. of-Class designees to be determined by qualified judges in April. Our current 2002 cycle is coming to a close with the Best- We would like to request a Council Agenda up-front presentation date of Tuesday, May 14. Our presenters will be Friends school program coordinator Gene Chartier and artist-educator Wendy Woolf. We will need about 15 minutes. If approval is likely we are hopeful you can give us as much advance notice as possible so that we can communicate this information early enough to maximize the attendance by interested parties. It is quite a time-consuming project to get in touch with each of the artists and their parents. National Historic Preservation Week. The May 14th date is significant because it falls during presentation of great merit. Thank you for your interest and consideration.
