RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-628, amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the addition of Section 10.44.690 to establish upon Ambrosia Lane a Prima Facie
35 mile per hour speed limit from Aviara Parkway to its intersection with'conosa Way and a
Prima Facie 40 mile per hour speed limit from Conosa Way to its intersection with
Poinsettia Lane.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-628 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
May 14, 2002. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 10.44.690 TO ESTABLISH UPON AMBROSIA LANE
A PRIMA FACIE 35 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT FROM AVIARA PARKWAY TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH CONOSA WAY AND A PRIMA FACIE 40 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT FROM CONOSA WAY TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH POINSETTIA LANE.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
~y the addition of Section 10.44.690 to read as follows:
"10.44.690 Ambrosia Lane.
(a) Upon Ambrosia Lane from Aviara Parkway to its intersection with Conosa Way,
the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
(b) Upon. Ambrosia Lane from Conosa Way to its intersection with Poinsettia Lane,
the prima facie speed limit shall be forty miles per hour."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption and
he City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be
ublished at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen
15) days after its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the
