Adopt Resolution Nos. 2002- 151 and 2002- 152 appointing two members to the Historic
Preservation Commission.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The term of Connie Trejo expires in April, 2002. Ms. Trejo was originally appointed in October,
1997 and has served five years.
Ms. Trejo has served in the category requiring “a member of the community with an interest in
local history.” The appointee, therefore, must meet the qualifications for this category.
The term of Don Christiansen expires in April, 2002. Mr. Christiansen was originally appointed
in October, 1997 and has served five years.
Mr. Christiansen has served in the category requiring “a member who has a different recognized
expertise in architecture, archeology, history, biology, engineering or geology or related field.”
Other members of the Commission are Sue Ladouceur, John Jones, and Dorothy Dudley Muth.
NOTE: Members of the Historic Preservation Commission are subject to the Political
Reform Act and must file Conflict of Interest Statements.

WHEREAS, the term of Don Christiansen as a member of the Historic Preservation
Commission expires in April, 2002; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Christiansen has served in the following category: “A different
recognized expertise in architecture, archeology, history, biology, engineering or geology or
related field”;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following person is hereby appointed to serve as a member of the
Historic Preservation Commission for a term to expire in April, 2006 in the category of “a
different recognized expertise in architecture, archeology, history, biology, engineeting or
geology or related field”
