OVERLAY PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 3667-4
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2002-284 accepting the construction of the 2000/01
Pavement Overlay Project, Project No. 3667-4, as complete, and directing the City Clerk to
record a Notice of Completion and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City
Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On September 19, 2001, Daley-CCAC, J.V. (formerly Nicholas Grant Corp.) was awarded
a contract in the amount of $2,037,387 for the construction of the 2000/01 Pavement
Overlay Project. The actual pay quantities were less than the estimated pay quantities
resulting in a final contract pay amount of $1,855,956.
Daley-CCAC, J.V. completed the pavement overlay work on May 14, 2002. City staff has
inspected the work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends formal acceptance of
the pavement overlay improvements by the City Council.

RESOLUTION NO. 2002-284
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF THE 2000/01 PAVEMENT OVERLAY PROJECT, PROJECT
NO. 3667-4.
WHEREAS, the construction of the 2000/01 Pavement Overlay Project has been
completed to the City's satisfaction by Daley-CCAC, J.V. (formerly Nicholas Grant Corp.); and
WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the construction of the 2000/01 Pavement Overlay Project, specifically identified
as Project No. 3667-4 is deemed complete and is hereby accepted.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execute
and record the Notice of Completion.
4. That all bonds on the subject Project will be released in accordance with State Law
and City Ordinances.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 24th day of SEPTEMBER , 2002 by the following vote, to wit:
