NS-644 MTG. 10-842 ESTABLISHING A PRIMA FACIE SPEED DEPT. CLK LIMIT UPON HILLSIDE DRIVE I DEPT. HD. CITY ATTY. CITY MGR RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Ordinance No. NS-644 amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code by the revision of Section 10.44.290 to establish upon Hillside Drive a Prima Facie 35 mile per hour speed limit from Highland Drive to its intersection with Park Drive. ITEM EXPLANATION: Ordinance No. NS-644 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on October 1, 2002. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published within fifteen days, if adopted. NS-644 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER OF SECTION 10.44.290 TO ESTABLISH UPON HILLSIDE DRIVE 10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE REVISION A PRIMA FACIE 35 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT FROM HIGHLAND DRIVE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH PARK DRIVE. The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows: SECTION 1: That Title IO, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended y the revision of Section 10.44.290 to read as follows: “10.44.290 Hillside Drive. Upon Hillside Drive from Highland Drive to its intersection with Neblina Drive, the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty-five miles per hour.” EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption and le City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be ublished at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen 15) days after its adoption. INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the k day of OCTOBER , 2002, and thereafter, PASSEb, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council sld on the 8th day of OCTOBER , 2002 by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila, Nygaard, Hall ONALD R.
