RECOMMENDED ACTION:
That the city council accept the donation of miscellaneous equipment, valued at approximately $1,100,
from the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) Magazine, and their Publisher James 0.
Page, a Carlsbad resident. (Adopt Resolution No. 2002-300)
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Attached is an itemized list of equipment that JEMS Magazine would like to donate to the Carlsbad Fire
Department. These items have been reviewed by Carlsbad fire department personnel and have been
determined to be of service to the department. James 0. Page, publisher of JEMS Magazine is
requesting that the city accept this donation of miscellaneous equipment for use by the fire department.

None.

RESOLUTION NO. 2002-300
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,
ACCEPTING A DONATION OF MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT FROM JEMS MAGAZINE
FOR USE BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) has offered to donate
miscellaneous equipment valued at $1,100 to the Carlsbad Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Fire Department personnel have determined the equipment to be in like-new
condition and of good use to the department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this donation for use by the fire department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the city of Carlsbad, California, as
follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $1,100 of miscellaneous equipment from JEMS
Magazine, on behalf of the citizens of Carlsbad, for use by the Carlsbad fire department.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council, held on
this 15 th day of OCTOBER, 2002, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila, Nygaard, Hall
NOES: None
