RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 2003-065 accepting the donation of one 1988 GMC Brigadier Armored Vehicle, VIN #IGDPSClJ2JV603187. The donation is being made by AT Systems, Inc., and is valued at $50,000. ITEM EXPLANATION: The Carlsbad Police Department has been offered a donation from AT Systems, Inc. of the above vehicle. This donation is a part of AT Systems, Inc. nation-wide “Donation to Law Enforcement” program that has benefited other law enforcement agencies throughout the United States as well as in San Diego County. Members of the Carlsbad Police Department‘s Tactical Response Team will utilize this vehicle on an infrequent basis. The primary use will be as a victim rescue vehicle. It will enhance the safety of the citizens and police officers, reducing the risk of injury. FISCAL IMPACT: Modifications and outfitting of the vehicle will be funded with asset forfeiture funds and appropriated with the 2003-2004 budget. EXHIBITS: 1. Resolution No. 2o03-065 . . 2. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above citations are true and correct. 2. That the City Council accept the donation of one 1988 GMC Brigadier Armored Vehicle on behalf of the citizens of the City of Carlsbad.
