J I DEPT. HD. CITY ATTY. CITY MGR RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive presentation from Palomar Limousine Service regarding the PAL Shuttle service. ITEM EXPLANATION: The City Council provides an opportunity for citizens and organizations to have an item placed on a City Council Agenda by submitting a letter to the City Manager. Attached is a letter (Exhibit I) from Michael Farrar, President of Palomar Limousine Service, requesting that he be allowed to make a presentation to the City Council regarding the funding of the PAL Shuttle for 2003. The following table summarizes the payments made to the company and the services provided. Community Activity Grant (CAG). CAG recommended no funding; Council 2000-2001 $5,000 approved $5,000 to be used by December 2001. Adopted with annual budget: 1/3 of the 2001 actual cost, not to exceed $7,680. Summer $6,235 I I Summer 2002 $6,235 Adopted with annual budget: not to exceed $6,235. I I Tickets purchased at $6 each. Distributed to City departments. Tickets purchased at $8 per adult and $6 per child. Distributed to City departments and others. Three-month summer shuttle route. Transported 524 passengers. Three-month summer shuttle route.
