ITEM EXPLANATION:
2003-129 accepting the donation of $1,000 from Astec Power.
The Carlsbad Police Department’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education program received a donation
from ASTEC Power in the amount of $1,000. The donation will be used to supplement the DARE
budget in buying classroom materials and supplies.

None.

RESOLUTION NO. 2003-129
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA ACCEPTING A DONATION OF $1,000
FROM ASTEC POWER FOR THE D.A.R.E. PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Astec Power, a division of Emerson Network Power, donated $1, 000 to the
Drug Abuse Resistance Education program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the City Council accepts the donation of $1,000 on behalf of the citizens of the
City of Carlsbad.
That the City Council appropriate the funds to purchase equipment and classroom
supplies for the DARE program.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 20th day of MAY , 2003, by the following vote, to wit:
