Adopt Resolution No. 2003-194 accepting the construction of Orion Street from El
Camino Real to Faraday Avenue, Project No. 3603, as complete, and directing the City Clerk to
record a Notice of Completion and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City
Ordinances.

On January 8, 2002, McLaughlin Engineering & Mining Inc. was awarded a contract in the amount
of $786,951 for the construction of Orion Street from El Camino Real to Faraday Avenue, Project
No. 3603.
McLaughlin Engineering & Mining Inc. completed the street improvement work on August 22,
2002. City staff has inspected the work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends formal
acceptance of the improvements by the City Council.

RESOLUTION NO. 2003-194
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION ORION STREET FROM EL CAMINO REAL TO FARADAY AVENUE,
PROJECT NO. 3603.
WHEREAS, the construction of Orion Street from El Camino Real to Faraday Avenue, has
been completed to the City’s satisfaction by McLaughlin Engineering & Mining Inc. on August 22,
2002; and
WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared: and
WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the construction of Orion Street from El Camino Real to Faraday Avenue,
specifically identified as Project No. 3603, is deemed complete and is hereby accepted by the City
Zouncil of the City of Carlsbad.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execute
and record the Notice of Completion for the construction of Orion Street from El Camino Real to
-araday Avenue, Project No. 3603.
4. That the City Clerk is directed to release all bonds on Project No. 3603 in accordance
with State Law and City Ordinances.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
