RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2003-199 accepting a donation of $2,000 from Waste
Management, appropriating the funds, and directing staff to draft a letter of thanks.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Waste Management, the city’s solid waste disposal provider, is donating $2,000 to the City of
Carlsbad in support of the City Stuff program. This program, which is a collaboration between
Junior Achievement and the City of Carlsbad, is designed to educate third grade students at
elementary schools located within Carlsbad on free enterprise and local government.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.

RESOLUTION NO. 2003-199
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,
ACCEPTING A DONATION OF $2,000 FROM WASTE
MANAGEMENT AND APPROPRIATING DONATION TO THE CITY
MANAGER DEPARTMENT BUDGET.
WHEREAS, Waste Management has donated $2,000 to the City Stuff program, and;
WHEREAS, Waste Management and the City have agreed that the donation be used for
general City Stuff program support;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accept the donation of $2,000 from Waste Management on
behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad,
3. That the City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to appropriate these
funds to the City Manager Department budget.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
ield on the 22nd day of JULY , 2003 by the following vote, to wit:
