RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2003- 303
Review Board.
appointing one member to serve on the Design
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The composition of the Design Review Board, in accordance with Chapter 2.26 of the
Carlsbad Municipal Code, consists of: two (2) Planning Commissioners, one (1) Village
Redevelopment Area property owner, one (I) Village Redevelopment Area business owner,
and one (1) general member. All members of the Design Review Board must also be
residents of the City of Carlsbad.
The term of Julie Baker expired in October, 2003. Ms. Baker was appointed to the Design
Review Board in March, 2002 to serve as a representative of the Planning Commission.
Therefore, a representative from the Planning Commission needs to be appointed to the
Design Review Board, with the appointee serving until October, 2007.
Current members of the Design Review Board are: Courtney Heineman, Tony Lawson,
Sara Marquez and Larry Paulsen.
NOTE: Members of the Design Review Board are subject to the provisions of the
Political Reform Act, and must file Statements of Economic Interests.

RESOLUTION NO. 2003-303
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING ONE MEMBER-
TO THE CARLSBAD DESIGN REVIEW BOARD
WHEREAS, the term of Julie Baker expired in October, 2003;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
Zalifornia, as folIows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following person is hereby appointed as the Planning Commission
representative to the Design Review Board for a term expiring in October 2007.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the
3ty of Carlsbad on the 18th day of November , 2003 by the following vote,
o wit:
