RECOMMENDED ACTION :
Adopt Resolution No. 2003-326 accepting a donation of artifacts and memorabilia related to actor Leo
Carrillo and Rancho de 10s Quiotes at an estimated value of five thousand dollars ($5,000) from Ms. Dawn
Amos.
ITEM EXPLANATION :
On August 11,2003, the City received a donation of artifacts and memorabilia related to Leo and Toni
Camllo, as well as Canillo Ranch. The donation was a generous gift from Ms. Dawn Amos of Carbondale,
IL., who is the daughter of Francine Delpy. Ms. Amos has asked that should any of these items be relinquished from the Carrillo Ranch Archives prior to her death, that they be returned to her rather than
sold or discarded.
The following items were received by the Cam110 Ranch Archives:
1. Trio of miniature glass flowered vases
2. Green demitasse cup and saucer
3. Painted glass sofa and table, and assorted dog figurines
4. Kerosene metal trainlcaniage lantern
5. Ceramic forget-me-not covered bowl
6. The California I Love, signed by Toni Carrillo
7. Painted glass tray
8. Tooled and painted leather book cover
9. Matching glass lamp and shade painted in western theme
IO. Enamel cigarette case, lighter and compact
1 1. Custom purple sequin-appliqued parade costume with split riding skirt
12. Small Gruen watch that was once owned by Toni Carrillo
Ms. Amos appraised the value of the collection at $5,000.
Upon receipt of this donation on September 15, 2003, the Parks and Recreation Commission unanimously
recommended acceptance by the City Council. The items will be added to the Carrillo Archival Collection
for future display at the Ranch. A letter of appreciation has been sent on behalf of the Recreation
Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Fiscal Impact to the General Fund.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF
ARTIFACTS AND MEMORABILIA RELATED TO ACTOR LEO
CARRILLO AND RANCHO DE LOS QUIOTES ESTIMATED AT A VALUE OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000) IN SUPPORT OF
LEO CARRILLO RANCH HISTORIC PARK
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Crty of Carlsbad, California, wishes to accept this donation
and acknowledge the generosity and support af Ms. Dawn Amos who donated these artifiicts and
memorabilia.
WHRERAS, the donation articles were subsequently received by the Parks and Recreation
Commission and recommended for acceptance by the Carlsbad City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California¶ as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City does hereby accept the donation totaling a value of five thousand dollars ($5,000).
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council held
onthe 16th day Of DECEKBER ,2003 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lew Finnila, Kulchin, Hall and Packard 29
