Adopt Resolution No. 2004-029
VASHON, appropriating the funds and directing an appropriate letter of thanks.
accepting a donation of $1,000.00 from KIERA
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ms. Kiera Vashon has donated $1,000.00 to the Carlsbad City Library for the express
purpose of purchasing bi-lingual books for the Centro de lnformacion collection.

EXHIBITS:
1. Resolution No. 2 0 04-0 2 9 accepting a donation from Kiera Vashon and
appropriating the funds to the Library gifts and bequests account.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A
GIFT OF $1,000 FROM KIERA VASHON TO THE
CARLS BAD CITY LIBRARY AN D, APPROP RlATl NG
DONATION TO THE LIBRARY GIFTS AND
BEQUESTS ACCOUNT
WHEREAS, Ms. Kiera Vashon has donated $1,000 to the Carlsbad City
Library for bi-lingual books for the Centro de lnformacion, and
WHEREAS, The City Council wishes to accept this gift;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the City Council accepts the gift of $1000 from Kiera Vashon
on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and hereby appropriates these
funds to the Library gifts and bequests account..
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 3rd day of
February , 2004, by the following vote, to wit:
